District Branches especially IAP Chennai Branch, and how to merge the funds. Dr.Sanjiv K Jha
replied that all financial issued will be regularised after the forthcoming Branch Elections. Dr.
Anand Misra further added that Branches cannot issue ID cards and cannot collect subscriptions.
But they can collect donations they can raise funds by conducing CME, workshops and
Conferences. Dr.Anand Mishra added that we are spending IAP funds for WCPT (around Rs. 15
Lakhs per year) and Legal Expenses of Branches also. Hence we are spending IAP funds for
member's welfare only. But it will take some time for Branches to improve their financial status.
Dr.Saha fromKolkata added that the Branches must be paid Travel allowances to attend the Branch
meeting of Central IAP. Dr.Sanjiv K Jha said that it will be considered as per the provisions.
However we are working on these suggestions for Zones Branch Meetings. We will get back with
outcome soon. However he added that some Branches will soon have more funds and this request
may not arise in future. Dr.M.Senthil Kumar suggested that the IAP News Letter sometimes does
not reach members. Hence he suggested that IAP can send around 50 to 100 copies of IAP news
Letters to BranchHeads for circulation for those who did not receive. Executive President accepted
this suggestion and do this from next issue. Dr.Saha further asked regarding Student membership
for which Dr.Sanjiv K Jha said that it is added in the New IAP Constitution and it will be soon
circulated through Students Coordinator of Central IAP. However the Student Member will get
Rs.1000/ less when he takes IAP Life membership. Hence the amount collected will be reduced in
their Life membership fee. Dr.Sanjiv K Jha added that the funds raised by the Branches will be
retained by the Branch only. Dr.AnandMisra said that the State Branch will get 5%of Branch Share
and District Branch will get 8% of Branch share as per New Constitution. Hence the control will
still be with State body. Regarding old Branch Share dues will be decided based on our Charted
Accountant advice.
