MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT.
1. All decisions taken by the Election Committee and Election Tribunal are final and
all members are expected to respect such decision and abide by it.
2. Refrain from pubic and open Personal criticism of Candidates at public platforms,
press and media etc. and Respect the right to privacy of candidate.
3. Using language which provokes violence hate and negativity.
4. Intimidation of candidates or voters
5. Publishing false information about other candidates.
6. Plagiarising any other symbols, name or acronyms and acts.
7. Offering any inducement or reward to a person to vote for a party
8. Destroying, removing or defacing posters of other Candidates
9. Carrying arms or weapons at any meetings, marches or rallies
10. Bribing voters to vote or not to vote
11. Refrain from criticising the fundamental values of association and generally
abusing a position of power, privilege or influence to influence the outcome of an
election.
Candidates who breach the Code can:
• Be fined up to Rs.15000.
• Have to give up the election deposit
• On repeating the violation of code of conduct candidate can be stopped from
contesting the election and barred from the process.
• Can have their membership registration cancelled.
