The state of Andhra Pradesh was formed on 1st October 1953 out of Madras state. It is bordered by Odisha to the north, Chhattisgarh to the north-east, Tamil Nadu to the south, Telangana & Karnataka to the west, and the Bay of Bengal to the east.
